How do I transfer my membership to someone else?

Although memberships are non-transferrable, you can easily transfer everything on your membership to another person, which is functionally equivalent. To do so:

  1. Go to the Profile tab of our member interface.
  2. In the Actions box in the upper right, choose the "Transfer Membership" action.
  3. Fill out the request form on Transfer Membership panel:
    • Enter the recipient's login name (if they have one) or email address.
    • Confirm your agreement to the transfer terms.
    • Determine if you want us to cancel your membership after the transfer.
    • Enter your password to confirm the transfer.
  4. Initiate the transfer.

We will send an email to the recipient with instructions on how to complete the transfer and a unique transfer code.

Although it is not required, we recommend that the recipient create their membership before you request the transfer, as it is slightly more secure. When an existing member is specified as the recipient, only they can receive the transfer. When a transfer is sent to an email address we don't know, anyone who creates a membership using the transfer code will be able to receive the transfer whether they give us the same email or not.
